A
16th century mill transformed into one of Andalusia's most charming
hotels.
Part
of the old white-washed storehouse was converted into stylish and
spacious suites. Today the resort is not only a favorite rural retreat,
but also a piece of living history - a traditional mill, which is still
capable to work the same way that it did four hundred years ago.
The
ancient Moorish irrigation channel carries gurgling water from the peak
that forms the property's spectacular backdrop. The water runs through
the ancient irrigation pond, now converted into the swimming pool to
pass under the mill, cooling the building naturally during the hot
Spanish summer.
Under
a canopy of apple, quince, almond and olive trees and past pots of
Andalusia geraniums and creeping bougainvillea, our guests enjoy the
refreshing water during the summer heat. |
